In-Home Treatment

In-home behavior therapy can be particularly effective for people who struggle with compulsive behavior such as checking or cleaning rituals that they perform primarily in their home setting.

Either as an alternative or as an adjunct to intensive outpatient or weekly outpatient treatment, in-home therapy can be especially efficient at improving symptoms, so that it is often well worth the time and effort. Of course, in-home treatment is not always practical, particularly if you live far from my office. If it can be arranged, however, even one in-home session can "jump-start" your exposure and ritual prevention (ERP) home practice, or it can get you "unstuck" if you've hit a plateau in your progress in overcoming your OCD behaviors.
